It's been a long time since the Monkeys played this Club, the last time infact was July 2007 pretty much near the start of The Beer Monkeys. On the night and after the gig we got a big mix of reviews from people and friends, since then however the band have changed their set (fare few time's infact ) and we pretty much think it works ok, we even lost a member from the band. So on SUNDAY 15 NOVEMBER 2009 all you lot out there that have seen us and don't mind the travel come along ( no dancing in the first set please ) to the club and we'll show them what a pub band can do.

On Saturday 31 oct at the Masons arms, Easington The Beer Monkeys will be doing there bit by donning there make up and scarring the shit out of them selfs, but strange thing is, the Masons arms are doing a TOGA PARTY not a halloween party a toga party, so if you are any were near this pub call in have good time ,get pissed , enjoy the music , and get confused see YOU there

The Beer Monkeys are not happy at cancelling gigs but this could not be helped
as our SEAN decided to brake his hand last saturday afternoon by falling over,
But like a brave man he is, we still played down south sheilds at Annie Mc Cartheys on Saturday night through the pain
After going to hospital and setting his hand in place now he's got a full cast on

UP DATE
On a return trip to hospital the doc give his up date , Ahhhhh , which is no good news for the monkeys , because SEAN needs to have the paster cast on for a ferther two weeks, making this month a total wash out. Still another fortnight for our guitarest to be bord s**tless again , because where all dying to get out there and shake our stuff.
so were all crossing our fingers ( exsept Sean cause we don't want another brake on his hand ) and hoping for good news and we'll be back in september

Thursday 20 th August the god dam thing is off, feeling itchy and tingley the hand is good, is the word from Sean "back practicing playing on the guitar he says" solos are good the next thing is a full band practice which is soon then another break for hollidays then back on the road and full steam ahead in september
So every thing being o.k. we'll be a rockin, See you out there.

On The 27 June See's The BEER MONKEYS Doing There Out Door Gig at The Praetorian MCC " ONE NIGHT IN A FIELD " Lowfield Stables, Blakeston Lane , Norton, Stockton on Tees. Also On The Bill For That Weekend Are.

The Beer Monkeys

(13/03/09) Another debut band at 'The Daisy' & they didn't
disappoint. This band cover 'rock' stuff from a broad spectrum, they
certainly make an effort, were good crack, had time for a music chat
beforehand, I like to check out the 'gear' of which they had mountains,
a decent sound, ++ lighting effects, play on music, good crack during
the gig, especially Sean the guitarist. He is the band 'funny man'
& had the audience's attention with his witty repetoire, his guitar
picking 'ain't bad either! Check out his manic-look photo in the gig
gallery. At one point I thought that Feed the Bear had wandered in,
with the singer running around in the audience!! (look out punters next
week, never take your eyes off him...!). The band brought a few punters
with them also, which is always good.There
were songs to suite most tastes & I particularly enjoyed the Uriah
Heep & Stereophonics numbers (my band has been rehearsing Dakota in
recent weeks). Other songs included Whisky in the Jar by Thin Lizzy, a
favourite of mine, plus songs by Bad Finger, The Calling, Spencer
Davis, U2, Tom Jones....come on the welsh! Mercy by Duffy was a
surprise choice, Rock'n'roll Star by Oasis, I Predict a Diet by Kaiser
Chiefs. The lights were good & certainly added to the show - the
band didn't forget to intro/thank their lighting guy either, which is
positive. Smaller
than usual crowd that we may put down to Comic Relief, Coronation St.
wedding, but more likely just 'the recession'! This didn't deter the
band though & they engaged well with the crowd.Anyway,
3 encores saw the band oblige with more songs until a finish at 11:30.
A good night, thanks 'Monkeys' we'll have you back....now what was that
about your fee being paid in 'beer'?
